Coffee table books
Pauline’s hat book list. Besides collecting hat blocks, Pauline also has a love for coffee table books. She shares her top 3 picks with us!
Dior Hat Book
Fresh from the press and just went to the top of my wish list! About 10 years ago I met renowned milliner Stephen Jones at a masterclass in Antwerp. And did you know it was Christian Dior who started his career designing headpieces? This is a golden combination for me, I cannot wait to get this book:
Also, we just learned that this is a quote by Christian Dior: ‘A hat is essential to any outfit. It completes it. In a way, a hat is the best way to express your personality’. We love it!

Alexander McQueen
In 2015 I visited the ‘Savage Beauty’ exhibition of Alexander McQueen in the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) in London. This was so impressive and inspiring, the story of his life, his career as a designer and sadly his tragic death. The exhibition itself was like a show, it included many of his real-life masterpieces, enhanced by the sounds, the special effects. I really felt like I was a part of it, I was in awe. I had to capture that memory and bought this book, I highly recommend it.

Philip Treacy
Philip Treacy is someone every milliner looks up to. His innovative hats are art pieces worn by celebrities and royals, from Lady Gaga to Kade Middleton. For me a Philip Treacy coffee table book is a must-have, I can curl up on the sofa with a Latte and these beautiful images to look at, let’s dream away..

The Queen’s Hat
I could not resist to share this children’s book with you as a bonus! My daughter lived in London for many years and we loved to visit her. This children’s book takes you through London, or should I say the hat and the queen take you through London?
